About Us

Gagne Performance Training is led by owner operator, Justin Gagne. A former track and athlete and multiple record holder for the University of Maine. After his time competing on the National scale, he turned his efforts to coaching high school track & field. As a member of Belfast Area High School and Bangor High School, he has coached numerous state champions, state qualifiers, and school record holders. Justin has a passion for developing athletes to reach their full potential through hard work, dedication, and drive. Justin has been able to support numerous athletes to continue their passions to college athletics. Coach Justin has an unparalleled passion for developing youth athletes in Maine, helping set them up for success, whether that be collegiate athletics or creating a passion and love for fitness.

Coach Justin has long history with strength sports and strength training. From starting his fitness journey in 6th grade to competing professionally in the Scottish Highland Games Heavy Athletics. Coach Justin has competed in power lifting, Strongman, and holds a New England Raw Deadlift Record at 705 lbs

Our 6 Tenets of Athleticism

We hold a belief there 6 majors areas of focus for helping one reach their full athletic potential. In our programs we look to maximize and optimize our strategy for attacking each area meticulously.

Proprioception

We begin with the mastery of balance. Balance is paramount and key to all athletic endeavors. We train athletes to be strong and solid in all their movements helping the athlete handle all circumstances of competition.

Explosiveness

Training with explosive movements, we help activate and engage the fast twitch muscles. This focus helps the athletes learn force generation and how to leverage power into speed.

Speed Work

Leveraging techniques and drills from Olympians, professional athletes, and strength and conditioning coaches, we develop the athletes ability to improve their form and running efficiency.

Agility Work

The ability to change direction, accelerate out of cuts, and properly decelerate is paramount in development the complete athlete. We focus on strengthening the core ligaments in agility work.

Strength Training

With deep insight into your fitness profile, our coaches devise the perfect program for you. They offer unwavering support and drive you towards your goals.

Self Confidence

The core of what we preach is believing and committing to one’s endeavors. Here we focus to empower and build the confidence of the athletes we train. This part of mental preparation starts in training and is often tested on the field.
